Paris S20
I want to be a cool French girl!!! That's it...that's the whole post!
Kidding...I arrived in Paris on a Friday afternoon and every pretense of love for Berlin melted away! Even good ol’ CDG in 100 degree heat can't scare me away. Seriously, how do I keep this three year streak of visiting Paris going forever?
Audrey got me from Opera and her home in Suresnes is just as beautiful as ever. There’s basil growing in the font garden, coconut iced coffee being made, and a loft bedroom waiting for me upstairs. @Barb Colas, I will pay you a steep rent to live with you. Offer stands forever. LMK if you’re interested.
Audrey and I headed out into the city in search of some shady sidewalks and ice creams cones – both of which we found in Montmartre. The ice cream at Glaces Glazed (54 Rue des Martyrs, 75009 Paris, France) is delicious. I opted for scoops of cardamom coffee and Extra Dark 70% chocolate while Audrey went with pistachio and chile mango.
Next we wandered through the Passage des Panoramas – old school covered street markets built in the 1800s so boujie Parisians could do their shopping even when it rained. We also passed by Sezane which was unfortunately closed.
After soaking through our dresses with sweat, we headed to the Seine and split a bottle of rosé at Rosa Bonheur sur Seine (Quai d'Orsay, 75007 Paris, France). This escalated things quickly. We ended the night at Paul Chen (123 Rue Lauriston, 75116 Paris, France) (surprise, surprise)! This is Audrey’s favorite French bistro and I can see why. The food is delicious, the wine is ever flowing, and the staff are incredibly hospitable. The escargot, duck, beef tartar, ceviche…LITERALLY EVERYTHING is delicious. We ended the night watching the Eiffel Tower glitter at midnight and then giggled the whole uber ride home.
If I could come to Paris and repeat this day (maybe with a museum thrown in) every year, I’d be one happy gal.
