Pastelaria A Galão, Mitte

Shout out to MY BIGGEST FANS: Ken and Kaylee from Galion, Craig from Boston, and Pam from Canfield! I officially have an international following!

For those of you who don't know by now, my friend Audrey is 50% of the royal we on this blog and there's always a 90% chance she's up for Pastelaria A Galão (Weinbergsweg 8, 10119 Berlin). Not only is this cafe located across the street from her apartment, but it also has the best vibes, an abundance of Portuguese pastries, comfy outdoor seating, and salt+pepper old men reading newspapers at all hours of the day.

Audrey recommends getting a pasteis de nata (theirs are especially eggy and sweet) and a large galão. She does not recommend trying to schedule an OBGYN appointment using a mix of the cafe's spotty wifi and your personal hotspot while on multiple work calls. If you do, she's not responsible for the spike in cortisol and the consequent panic laughter.

Now for the question you've all been asking in your heads: How does one say galão? To be honest, I'm not 100% sure myself. It sounds like "gallon" with a French accent. As long as you don't say "gall-oww" you should be OK.

The cafe also has sandwiches and pastries that seems to have a cult following. We love visiting morning, noon, and night. It's great for friend dates, real dates, and even work dates. My goal is to come here enough that I become a permanent fixture and official Weinbergsweg figure.

Note: Audrey is working on her posture. This is the before picture.
